Introduction:
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Government College (GC) University aims to elevate a culture of sustainable mechanism of quality assurance at GC University Hyderabad through stake holder’s engagement, enduring self-evaluation and ongoing development. The QEC’s operations orbit around the quality of teaching, learning, research and management under the umbrella of HEC criterion.
Vision:
To nurture the core values of academic and research excellence in order to evolve GC University Hyderabad into an organization that meets significant national and international quality standards..
Mission:
The Quality Enhancement Cell is committed to foster a sustainable quality assurance mechanism to support the GC University Hyderabad through stakeholder engagement for ongoing process of self-evaluation, monitoring and striving to achieve the highest level of academic and research excellence at national and international level.
Objectives:
- Implementation of the HEC assessment procedures to ensure quality standards for the promotion of academic and research excellence.
- To develop tangible feedback mechanism and carrying out multidimensional analysis of each academic and research programs to ensure the quality assurance for further improvements in policy standards.
- To Act as a co-ordination office between University and national and international organizations for capacity building and training programs.
- To facilitate academic departments to Adopt appropriate standards to get accreditation with relevant accreditation councils.
- Promoting the confidence among society by attaining top ranking among national and international HEIs.

Attending 4th International Conference of PNQAHE in HEC Islamabad
Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, Deputy Director QEC at Government College University Hyderabad (GCUH), participated in the "4th International Conference of PNQAHE" alongside the Annual General Meeting (AG) titled "Future Proofing Quality Assurance in Higher Education," held from 3rd to 5th March 2024. This prestigious event brought together thought leaders and experts to discuss innovative approaches for ensuring the resilience and sustainability of quality assurance practices in higher education institutions.
Progress Review Meeting & Training for Quality Enhancement Cells on PSG-2023
Our Deputy Director QEC, Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, attended the "Progress Review Meeting & Training for Quality Enhancement Cells on PSG-2023: Institutionalizing Quality Culture," organized by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of HEC from 9th May 2024 to 11th May 2024. The session focused on strengthening the implementation of quality assurance standards within higher education institutions
Two-Day 1st National Certified Reviewers Training Program Phase-II, Module-III," organized by Sindh HEC
Our Deputy Director QEC, Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, attended the "Two-Day 1st National Certified Reviewers Training Program Phase-II, Module-III," organized by Sindh HEC from 20th May 2024 to 21st May 2024. His participation followed the successful completion of Module II, demonstrating his continued commitment to professional development in quality assurance
Attended Orientation session on the "Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1"
Our Deputy Director QEC, Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, attended an orientation session on the "Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1" at the Regional Centre, Karachi, on 7th November 2023. This session, organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, focused on familiarizing participants with the newly introduced policy and its implementation in undergraduate programs.
Organized Orientation Session on Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1
Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, Deputy Director of QEC at Government College University Hyderabad, served as a resource person during an Orientation Session on HEC Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1 .The session was attended by the Heads of Departments (HoDs) from all academic departments, ensuring comprehensive engagement with the new policy. This collaborative initiative aimed to align institutional practices with the updated guidelines, fostering improved academic standards and uniformity in undergraduate education delivery.
Attended Two-Day workshop on 1st National Certified Reviewers Training Program
Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, Deputy Director QEC, attended the two-day *1st National Certified Reviewers Training Program* (Phase-II, Module-II), organized by the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC) from 26th to 27th February 2024. The program aimed to enhance the reviewing and evaluation skills of participants, equipping them with advanced knowledge and methodologies for quality assurance processes in higher education institutions.
One Day Workshop on Self-Assessment Report Writing
Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, Deputy Director QEC at Government College University Hyderabad, conducted a one-day workshop on 'Self-Assessment Report Writing' at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. The workshop was aimed at enhancing the skills of program team members from affiliated college campuses in preparing self-assessment reports, a critical aspect of quality assurance in academic programs.
Participation in Two Day workshop on Quality Assurance
Deputy Director of QEC, Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, has successfully completed the Module-I workshop for the Certified Reviewer of Higher Education Institutions training program organized by the Sindh Higher Education Commission. As a result, he was shortlisted for Module II and successfully completed the training on March 15, 2023, at SMIU Karachi.
Participation in 10th Deans Directors Conference organized by NBEAC
QEC representative Mr. Junejo attended 10th Deans & Directors Conference Workshop held on 13-14th March 2023 at Sarena Hotel Peshawar. He also attends training workshop on Accreditation and Re-Accreditation Strategies in the same conference on 14th March 2023
Attended 3 Day International Training workshop organized by APO Japan
Deputy Director QEC attended the workshop on Service quality & productivity Gainsharing (Virtual Session) organized by the Asian Productivity organization Japan on 28-30th November 2022
Participation in Three Day Quality Assurance Workshop organized by Sindh HEC
Deputy Director of QEC, Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, participated in a Module-I workshop on Quality Assurance with the theme "Certified Reviewer of Higher Education Institutions". The workshop was organized by the Sindh Higher Education Commission and took place at PC Hotel Karachi from 1st to 3rd February 2023.
Two Days workshop on Quality Assurance Mechanism & process of Self-Assessment Report
On March 1st and 2nd, 2023, a two-day workshop was held by QEC to provide training on the program Self-Assessment Report (SAR) process and HEC Quality Assurance Mechanism for faculty and program team members of various departments. Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo, the Deputy Director of QEC, served as the resource person for this workshop
International Conference on Quality Education
GC University Hyderabad's Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) collaborated to host a two-day international conference on "Quality Education, SDG Implementation, and Interrelation Among Goals (ICQESDGS)" with the objective of promoting a culture of quality and SDG implementation within the institution. The Sindh Higher Education Commission fully funded the conference, which took place on May 20-21, 2023.
Conducted workshop at SMBBU Larkana
Mr. Hakim Ali Junejo (Deputy Director QEC) conducted one day workshop with program teams on Quality Assurance mechanism at HEIs and process of Self Assessment Report at Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University(SMBBU) Larkana.

NACTE visited GCUH on 17-18 Oct to accredit the B.Ed. Hons Program.
QEC Meeting with Program Teams
QEC conducted Meeting with program teams of I.T/Computer Science & Edu. Department on SAR process on 25.05.2022 to take follow-up & to discuss on SAR draft.
