Department of Chemistry
Introduction

The Department of Chemistry is a dynamic, growing department with faculty dedicated to providing quality education for all undergraduates through innovative programs.

Mission

To be recognized as world class department in advancing society through chemistry education, research and service via mentoring & leadership, and economic impact through technology transfer & entrepreneurship.

Vision

The mission of Department of Chemistry is to provide quality education in chemical sciences through deep understanding of the subject and hands-on practical laboratory skills at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Department of Chemistry will produce graduates who can think critically, capable of facing many technological challenges of a rapidly evolving world by providing innovative and dedicated classroom instructions. They will be able to communicate science and excel in their academic and professional careers. Department of Chemistry seek to achieve excellence in teaching and research by attracting best faculty who use modern pedagogy in the classroom and collaborate with students in research. The department also focus on creating a research spirit by producing research programs at postgraduate levels. In addition to the core competences of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry, department offers courses on nanotechnology, material science and medicinal chemistry that highlight the interdisciplinary aspect of modern chemistry.

Objectives of the program.

  1. To create academic environment which promotes the intellectual and professional development of students and faculty.
  2. To enable the students to effectively communicate scientific knowledge, work in teams and follows basic principles of ethics.
