The mission of Department of Chemistry is to provide quality education in chemical sciences through deep understanding of the subject and hands-on practical laboratory skills at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Department of Chemistry will produce graduates who can think critically, capable of facing many technological challenges of a rapidly evolving world by providing innovative and dedicated classroom instructions. They will be able to communicate science and excel in their academic and professional careers. Department of Chemistry seek to achieve excellence in teaching and research by attracting best faculty who use modern pedagogy in the classroom and collaborate with students in research. The department also focus on creating a research spirit by producing research programs at postgraduate levels. In addition to the core competences of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry, department offers courses on nanotechnology, material science and medicinal chemistry that highlight the interdisciplinary aspect of modern chemistry.
